Contains mostly outgoing memoranda and letters and memoranda-to-file maintained by the Division Chief Mario I. Blejer and various Economists relating to: World Economic Outlook country notes; back-to-office reports (occasionally with attached FAD Mission table data); summaries of meetings attended including Executive Board Article IV Consultation meetings; comments on briefing papers; notes and/or advice on country policy and fiscal issues (i.e. Buoyancy and Elasticity Estimates for the Philippines in Mackenzie 1983 file, ongoing research in illegal trade in McDonald file, 1983, Nepal and India commercial policy in Robinson 1987 file, determinants of private savings in developing countries in Rossi 1987 file, calculation of fiscal impulse for Korea, Katz 1987); IMF Institute Public Finance course instruction, participation conferences; studies such as the Social Expenditure Study; publications by staff (some with exerpts or abstracts attached); research proposals and projects, and other administrative matters. Division Chief Mario I. Blejer's files, and later his successor Ke-young Chu's files, contain monthly progress reports of the Special Fiscal Studies Division outlining each Economists' activities and contributions. A small amout of original memoranda received by Division Chief Mario I. Blejer are also included in the files. Series is arranged in alphabetical order and then chronological order.
