Series consists of records maintained and/or created between Asian Department and area divisions staff on matters concerning economies and economic policies of the member countries. Correspondence, memoranda and cables of Division Chief B. Aghevli and Director Tun Thin form part of the series. Two files of B. Aghevili on trade liberalization and trade policy have been added to the series by the archivist. Topics covered include external debt issues; structural adjustment facility, surveillance, use of Fund resources and World Economic Outlook. Series is processed in chronological tranches. Within successve tranches, files are arranged alphabetically by subject and documents within each file arranged in reverse chronological order. Tranche 2 files (1989-1991, box 12) include Structural Adjustment Facility, Enhanced Structural Adjustment Facility and Work Plan.
