Series contains memoranda prepared by staff of the Exchange Restrictions Department (ERD) on issues dealt with by the Department. Several of the documents were issued as Staff Memoranda, Executive Board Documents, or in some cases GATT documents. The primary subjects covered by the series are Trade and Payments, Exchange Restrictions, and International Trade polices. Each volume contains an index to the memoranda in addition to the index found at the end of the series. Also contained in this series are a set of memos from the ERD Department, abbreviated ERDX. These memos also cover the years 1950 to 1953. There is also an index to these memos. The majority of the memos were produced jointly by ERD and area departments in the Fund.
