Series consists of the chronological files maintained and/or created by Graeme F. Rea in his capacity as Deputy General Counsel, Legal Department and covers the period 1979-1984. Records are drafts of legislation and draft reports, showing the development of IMF policy; drafts of agreements; editorial comments and critiques regarding papers and documents of other Legal staff members; correspondence, including correspondence with the Director and other Legal Department staff; recommendations to the Director; memorandum to file; and, correspondence with external organizations and individuals. The records illustrate the working relationship between the Legal and Treasurer’s departments. An index of documents is available for some years. Files are arranged chronologically.
