- [nb-NO]Scope and Content[nb-NO]Series consists of photographs authored by IMF photographers documenting a variety of IMF-related events held at IMF Headquarters buildings, the World Bank, and Bretton Woods Recreation Center (BWRC), among other unidentified locations, from 1947 through 2004. Typical events include the following: staff socials, parties, and picnics; sports clubs; "trainees" meetings and sessions (which predate the IMF Institute); senior level staff and management participating in social events, meetings, conferences, and press conferences; and staff portraits (including, for example, senior-level IMF staff Sir Joseph Gold, Margaret de Vries, and J.J. Polak). Photographs have been kept in their original order as established by IMF photographers and are arranged in chronological order by year and then by date. Archival descriptions for each year of photographs are available at the subseries level. Names of individuals are noted where they have been identified., For preservation reasons, photographs (prints, negatives, contact sheets, and slides) are housed in six archival boxes according to format and size as follows: Boxes 1-2: 4x5 inch negatives; Boxes 3-5: 35mm and 120 film negatives; and Box 6: prints, contact sheets, and two 8x10 inch negatives. Box 6 is further organized chronologically by year into six archival files as follows: [File 1] [nd], 1947-1974; [File 2] 1975-1988; [File 3] 1989-1991; [File 4] [nd], 1954-1958 [4x5 inches]; [File 5] 1959-1994 [4x6 inches or smaller]; and [File 6] 1998-2001 [4x6 inches]. Corresponding negatives and prints can be matched together with the titles and dates supplied by the photographer or the archivist. The 35mm slides are found in IMF Archives Slide Box 2, Containers 5 and 6 and include the following headings: 12/74 Bernstein 70th Birthday; and 6/87 Currency Exhibit.
