Series consists of general correspondence sent to Managing Director Ivar Rooth both from those interested in IMF issues, such a bankers, and from the general public, or those not necessarily connected to IMF business. This group of files mostly contains the original incoming correspondence with a reply from either the Managing Director, his personal assistants or the Department heads. There is correspondence with staff of the Federal Reserve Bank, the Governor of the Bank of France, and the special representative to the UN regarding the statistical program of the IMF., This particular set of correspondence files does not reflect the sum of all Managing Director's correspondence, only those files that were reflective of an individual and contained correspondence of primarily a personal nature. Records include replies and comments on articles sent to the Managing Director, as well as thank-you notes for hospitality shown to him and his wife. This material is arranged in alphabetical order by correspondent's organization or last name.
