- [nb-NO]Scope and Content[nb-NO]Series consists of general files maintained by Middle Eastern Department Division F during its first year of operation (1993). The Division had then in its area of responsibility Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya. Files included material inherited from the African Department North African Division responsible for Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia before their transfer to the the Middle Eastern Department (1988-1992). Organized alphabetically by subject, files cover administrative, operational and poliy issues. Duplicating in many ways material maintained at the departmental level (Immediate Office) they contain however first hand data recieved from member countries and detailed information concerning the division’s activities and policy recommendations or views.
