Series consists of minutes of meetings (many are originals) held for consultation missions and other discussions between government officials from area countries, and IMF Representatives. Discussions are held under Articles XIV & VIII (until 1977) and Article IV (from 1978) of the IMF Articles of Agreement and, at times, are combined with other missions related to the use of IMF resources and Stand-By Arrangements., This series was maintained separately from the Consultation Files by the Department. In most instances the minutes of meetings contain: a list of the participants (government officials, IMF representatives, and observers); the minutes themselves (which often include economic and financial data and may have specific or more general topics); and a concluding statement by the IMF mission which is presented to the authorities, in a preliminary fashion, with a summary of the discussions and principal conclusions., Files are organized alphabetically by country and chronologically within each file.
