Series is open according to the Policy on Access to the Fund's Archives. Files will be screened by reference staff for any time restrictions.

Series consists of photographs collected by archivists in the Secretary's Department Records Division through 1992 and intermittently thereafter through 2000. Authored by both IMF photographers and commercial photographers, photographs consist of portraits or documented events including Executive Directors, Alternate Executive Directors, Chairmen of the Boards of Governors, the Executive Board (group photographs), Managing Directors, Deputy Managing Directors, department heads and other senior staff, membership ceremonies, anniversary lunches and meetings, events related to the Articles of Agreement, visits from representatives of member countries, committees (Committee of 20, Development Committee, Interim Committee), the Bretton Woods Recreation Center (BWRC), IMF headquarters buildings (Washington, DC and European Offices), departmental photographs, trainees (pre-IMF Institute), and events related to the United Nations (UN) (Consultative Committee, ECOSOC, secretary generals, and a stamp honoring the IMF)., Photographs (prints, negatives, contact sheets) have been kept in the original order established by the archivists in the 1970s through the early 1990s. They are arranged in 20 archival boxes, a Flat File map case (FF/A, Drawer 1) located in the Multimedia Repository, and the SECRC Oversize Photographs box. The photographs are arranged in ten archival subseries as follows: 1) Executive Directors, Alternate Executive Directors; 2) Chairmen, Board of Governors [Annual Meetings Chairmen]; 3) Executive Board; 4) Managing Directors; 5) Deputy Managing Directors; 6) Department Head/Senior Staff; 7) Membership Ceremonies, Signing Articles of Agreement; 8) Miscellaneous; 9) General [1]; and 10) General [2]. Descriptions for each series are available at the subseries level while one of the subseries descriptions, General [2], is available at the archival file and item level., Those photographs found in the subseries General [2] were part of a group of photographs once removed and processed as part of an archival series dedicated to the Bretton Woods Conference, which was held in July 1944. Those photographs included shots from the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference, the Inaugural Meetings (held in Savannah, Georgia in March 1946), the 25th and 40th Anniversary Reunion events, and photographs of a bust of John Maynard Keynes. While the photographs of the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference remain with the IMF Archives Bretton Woods Conference Collection, the remaining photographs were returned to their original order in the Secretary's Department Records Division photograph series, SECRC Records Division Photographs. Because these photographs were processed down to the archival item level, they were returned to their original order as a distinct, but related subseries.
