Series consists of country correspondence files maintained by the International Capital Markets Division of the Exchange and Trade Relations Department. Records reflect work carried out by the Division with regard to debt in member countries which included: debt management; the benefits and costs of debt reduction options; and different approaches to incorporating debt reduction. Types of records contained in the series include memoranda to file and other internal memoranda between the division chief and economists of the Division, senior advisors of ETR; and correspondence with private banks and lending institutions. Other records include reports; minutes; Board documents and drafts; briefings on review mission to member countries; reference and annotated material. Files are arranged alphabetically by country and chronologically within.
