Series consists of subject files kept by Managing Director Ivar Rooth. Records include correspondence and memoranda addressed to, and from, the Managing Director and the Deputy Managing Directors, Department heads or staff, regarding gold, inflation, and U.S. import restrictions and tariffs, as well as discussions on the participation of the Managing Director in seminars and conferences., Subject files also include correspondence and memoranda with bankers and economists from around the world. For instance, there is a substantial amount of correspondence related to the Organization for European and Economic Cooperation (OEEC) and the Mutual Security Agency Council meetings in Paris (1952) to discuss military and economic aid to Europe. Also includes material related to sessions of the United Nations' Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), including a statement by the Managing Director made at the 21st Session of the ECOSOC in 1956., Files are arranged alphabetically, and reverse chronological within each file.
