Series consists of internal and external correspondence and memoranda from the Immediate Office (Front Office) of ASD, APD, SEA and CTA, Board documents, reports, and agendas. Subjects include: annual meetings, relations with member countries and central banks, surveillance, SDRs, gold, use of Fund resources, quotas, purchases, stand-by arrangements, and consultations. There is also correspondence and memoranda with external organizations, for example, the Paris Club and political economic groups (G-7, G-10, G-24, G-77)., Files contained in this series are complemented by the Country Files series, where many of the same topics are covered but are country specific. Files in this series are arranged alphabetically and in reverse chronological order within each file. There are two accruals at the end of the series where the alphabetical order begins again., A tranche of documents from 1989 to1994 has been appended to the end of series and is arranged alphabetically and in reverse chronological order: these documents are originated by Asian Department (APD) and its successors, Southeast Asia and Pacific Department (SEA) and Central Asia Department (CTA). Files contained in this tranche cover the following topics: conditionality, country strategy briefs, currency stabilization, debt, environment, international capital markets, monetary and exchange arrangements, monetary system, poverty.
