Форма и содержание
Series consists of the subject files of Rudolf R. Rhomberg. Rhomberg was a Deputy Director in the Research Department before he retired in 1987. Subjects covered by the files include balance of payments adjustments, payment imbalances, capital movements, conference papers, exchange rates, quotas, gold, international liquidity, the international monetary system and its reform, reserves, SDRs, and substitution accounts. Rhomberg corresponded frequently with Directors J.J. Polak and William Hood, and colleagues John Smith, David Williams, and other economists and advisors in the Research Department. He also frequently corresponded and collaborated with Fund staff from other departments, and with individuals and organizations outside of the Fund. His work on the topic of Export Performance, and particularly, papers jointly written with Helen Junz are also included. Rhomberg's files consist mainly of correspondence, Board documents (primarily SMs, EBDs, Press Releases, EBMs, and BUFFS), handwritten notes, and memoranda, as well as cables, Interfund messages, and incoming correspondence. Rhomberg's work is evidenced in these files through drafts of papers that he wrote, memoranda to Research Department colleagues (frequently the Director) updating them on issues of interest to the department, replies to internal queries about the department's activities, and comments on drafts of documents from the Research Department and documents from other departments. Rhomberg was one of the Research Department's representatives at Board meetings, and some files are filled with his copies of Board documents. Files are arranged in alphabetical order, and documents within each file are arranged in reverse chronological order.
