Series consists of the country files maintained by Robert C. Effros, Assistant General Counsel and covers the period 1961 to 1993. Records primarily reflect Effros’ activities with the development of Central Banking legislation for members on behalf of the IMF and in collaboration with the Central Banking Department. Records consist of drafts of legislation and comments, along with correspondence with staff of the Central Banking Department and with the member countries. Files also contain drafts of staff reports and background papers regarding Article IV consultations in various countries. Correspondence often contains comments or guidance from Effros.
