- Omfattning och innehållSeries consists of Consultation Files, Technical Assistance files, Stand-By Arrangement mission files, Surveillance files and Staff Visit files. Consultative functions originate from the Articles of Agreement, which outline IMF responsibility to oversee the international monetary system and exercise surveillance over its members' economic policies. For the most part, country surveillance takes the form of annual consultations with individual member countries. Records reflect the Department's role in missions and discussions under Articles XIV & VIII (until 1979) and Article IV (from 1978) of the IMF's Articles of Agreement with its area countries, technical assistance, reviews for Stand-By Arrangements and informal staff visits. Records consist of: minutes of meetings held with officials from member countries; background reports on countries to prepare mission members; staff back-to-office reports which summarized the results of the mission; questionnaires; reports on the IMF's relationship with member countries; and miscellaneous material concerning the administrative side of missions, including agendas, expected meeting attendance, dining plans and hotel accomodations. Files are organized alphabetically by country and chronologically within each country.
