- Scope and ContentSeries consists of the Chronological files of Jack Boorman in his positions as Senior Advisor and Deputy Director of the former Exchange and Trade Relations Department (ETR). Files contain Boorman's comments and/or suggestions on reports and briefs prepared by staff on a variety of subject matters, including but not limited to, Trust Fund, Trade Policy, Notification Systems, Conditionality, and an analysis of the role and size of the IMF. Correspondence prepared by ETR Divisions and addressed to Area Departments were channeled through Boorman. In his capacity as Deputy Director, Boorman routinely reported to the Director and Management on the status of ETR mission assignments and the Department's participation in Paris Club Meetings. The latter involved notifications to the Executive Board of the Debt Rescheduling requests of member countries received by the Chairman of the Paris Club. Files also reflect Boorman's participation in the Electronic Data Processing System (EDP) Advisory Committee meetings. This group met to formulate and develop a strategy for the most efficient use of significant resources devoted by the IMF and data management responsibilities and practices associated with Country Desk work in Area Departments, FAD and ETR. Boorman also represented the IMF in discussions with IBRD representatives on SAF, Enhanced SAF, the SAF Initiative and the use of Fund Resources. Files, which consist of incoming and outgoing correspondence, internal memoranda, and annotated minutes, are arranged chronologically.
