- Scope and ContentSeries consists of records created and/or maintained by Malcolm D. Knight as he worked in the Research Department's External Adjustment Division (RESEJ) as a Deputy Division Chief and Division Chief from 1980 to1987. Some files also date from Knight's time as an economist in the Research Department's Financial Studies Division. Records reflect RESEJ and Knight’s research activities on the working of the international adjustment process, on adjustment problems of specific countries, and on exchange rates and payments imbalances. Created by Knight, these files cover topics such as the fiscal impulse measure, and research conducted within the Division; the IMF's program on growth; and, research papers on the global effects of IMF-supported adjustment programs. There is also a file that contains Knight’s reports on his work during a period of independent study leave from 1985 to 1986. Series is arranged in alphabetical order.
