- Scope and ContentSeries contains Immediate Office files regarding IMF-wide administrative issues as well as administrative matters particular to the Department. Files are arranged alphabetically by subject and consist of inter-departmental correspondence - generally exchanged with the Administration Department, internal memoranda and IMF Documents. Processed in successive chronological tranches, they include: draft policies sent by Administration for comments with occasional responses prepared by Middle Eastern Department staff (Compensation, Expatriation, Retirement, Handbook on Procedures, Performance Evaluation, Technical Assistance); memoranda regarding the functions, organization and staff assignments of the Department (Departmental Organization, Delegation of Authority); and material regarding Department's activities (Mission Approval by Management, Mission Schedules) or support functions (Logging, Records, Document Disclosure). The series contains also some personnel files (Technical Assistance / Resident Representative). Tranche 2 (1989-1992, Boxes 4-15) includes MED Immediate Office Annual Meeting Files formerly maintained with its Subject Files. It includes also documents reflecting the new responsibilities of the departments in the preparation of the budget (Budget - Mid-Term Budgetary Overlook; Budget Reporting System) and documents concerning the Fund's security policy (Fund Security; Guld War Security, 1990-1991).
