- Scope and ContentSeries consists of correspondence and memoranda generated and maintained by Roger V. Anderson in his capacity as Economist, Deputy Division Chief and later Division Chief of the Trade and Payments Division and covers the period 1950 to 1955. The correspondence which is arranged in reverse chronological order, includes both handwritten and typed papers prepared in conjunction with area departments on exchange rate adjustments (Austria); use of Fund resources (Belgium); and drafts of Executive Board Minutes. Of particular note are the files pertaining to the preparation of the Exchange Restrictions' chapter for the IMF Annual Report which was usually prepared by Anderson and Frans A. G. Keesing, Chief of the former Exchange Control Division, Exchange Restrictions Department. Anderson also worked with Keesing on the preparation of the Annual Report of Exchange Restrictions - Part I. Files for the Annual Report consist of correspondence and background material gathered for the report which describes and analyzes trends and developments, and a survey of exchange controls and restrictions in member countries. Comments on the draft exchange reports by the Secretary's and area departments were usually annotated by Anderson for incorporation into the revised reports. In some instances, these annotations also indicate information not included in the revised or corrected report and an explanation as to why this decision was taken. Article XIV Consultation files comprise annotated Board documents; printed Executive Board Minutes; Anderson's comments on drafts to member countries regarding consultations; recommendations to Board submitted by Trade and Payments Division regarding consultations; summary records/minutes of consultations; and, draft minutes of meetings with country consultation representatives.
