- Scope and ContentSeries consists of photographs authored by IMF photographers of the Spring Meetings of the joint World Bank-IMF Development Committee and the IMF's Interim Committee, now the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IFMC), as well as other groups from or affiliated with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group (formerly the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development), held primarily in Washington, DC, from 1975 through 2003. The Spring Meetings serve as a forum where the Development Committee and Interim Committee meet to "discuss progress on the work of the Bank and Fund." The Development Committee, also known as the Joint Ministerial Committee of the Boards of Governors of the Bank and the Fund on the Transfer of Real Resources to Developing Countries, was established in October 1974 . The Interim Committee, also known as the Interim Committee of the Boards of Governors on the International Monetary System, was also established in October 1974 . In September 1999, the Interim Committee was succeeded by the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) . In addition to the Development Committee and the Interim Committee (and, later, the IMFC), other Spring Meetings attendees include those found in the following groups or events: Group of 7, Group of 10, Group of 22, Group of 24, bilateral meetings with IMF Managing Directors, World Economic Outlook (WEO) press conferences, and press conferences with IMF and World Bank Management and other senior-level attendees., Photographs (negatives, prints, and corresponding contact sheets) have been kept in their original order as established by the photographers and are arranged chronologically by year and then by event date or in groupings created by IMF photographers. Gaps include photographs from Spring Meetings held in 1976, 1978, 1981, 1982, and 1985. Each subseries of Spring Meetings photographs includes a brief description, summary of the events documented by photographers, and a statement about physical organization (usually by roll of film with alphabetical, alphanumeric, or numerical designations with event titles or subjects notated at the top of each enclosure)., For preservation reasons, photographic negatives are stored separately from prints and contact sheets. Negatives (35mm and 120 film) are housed in six negative albums. Prints and contact sheets are stored in three archival boxes in twenty-two archival files, numbered by the archivist, [1] through [22]. Negatives and corresponding prints and contact sheets can be matched together in the following ways: a cross-reference note assigned by the archivist or with the arrangement schema originally established by IMF photographers. Some textual records accompany the photographic material including: schedules-of-events, requisitions, delegation lists, and IMF photographers' hand-written notes. Due to their small amount, textual records are housed in archival enclosures and stored in the boxes containing contact sheets and prints.
