- Ambito e contenutoDivisions maintained a series of mission files for each country. Staff missions were carried out in collaboration with functional departments in order to conduct IMF business with the member countries. Files are typically divided according to the mission workflow and may have the following sections: background material, briefing paper, minutes, back-to-office report and/or report to management, board discussion, and correspondence. Reports and briefings were prepared by mission staff and presented to the Board and Managing Director. Correspondence is mostly between the IMF and member countries. Meetings were held between mission staff and representatives from the member country's central bank, government and civil society organizations. Series is arranged alphabetically by country and then chronologically. Series duplicates AFRAI Consultation Files series in part, but also includes files for missions with a more narrow focus than the Article IV, XIV, and VIII Consultations, such as use of Fund resources, technical assistance or Stand-By Arrangement missions. Files also have original records and draft material for those consultation missions which are duplicated in the AFRAI Consultation Files series.
